TAKE OFF STORY AND REVIEW:
Take Off is made on the basis of the real-life rescue of Indian nurses who were stranded in Tikrit, Iraq, during the country’s civil war in the year 2014. The movie cinematographs the life of its leading role Sameera who is a strong- willed nurse. Sameera along with her husband travels to Iraq for work and that is when IS militants soon take control of their hospital. The plot revolves around how they make it out alive from the crisis.
Editor-turned-filmmaker Mahesh Narayanan’s debut movie Take Off is the most recent talk of the town. The movie has been in receipt of amazing reaction and the audience count has only been growing after the opening weekend.
Take Off has been one of the most- awaited films this year for not one but many reasons – it has Parvathy playing the central character, it will mark Fahadh Faasil’s first movie subsequent to over a year and most prominently it’s based on the real-life story of the rescue of 46 Indian nurses who were stranded in Saddam Hussein’s hometown of Tikrit, Iraq, when IS militants took over the city in the year 2014.
Instead of focusing on the rescue, both of them spend more than the half of the movie portraying out its central character Sameera (Parvathy), a 31-year-old divorcee and a strong-willed nurse, who works to pay her loans and provide her family with some food to live up life. She soon lets her colleague Shahid into her life and the duo travel to Iraq in search of greener pastures. Sameera from Take Off is a kind of character that demanded someone who could get into the skin and there was no better choice than Parvathy for that role.
To stand as a pillar of help for Sameera and Shahid is the shrewd Indian ambassador Manoj (Fahadh Faasil) as the Indian and Iraqi governments give the impression of being helpless in the dreadful state of affairs. The adversities that Parvathy and the group of nurses face under ARE captivity and how they endure them from the rest of the plot.
Sameera(Parvathy) carries the movie on her own and without any difficulty sustaining her are Kunchacko Boban and Fahadh Faasil. Kunchacko pulls a self- possessed and subtle performance as Shahid, who also serves as the undying ray of hope in Sameera’s life
Take Off is a dazzling capture on a real- life tale and with the director’s own roll on the incidents, it makes an appealing cinematic practice that could give even Bollywood movies of the similar genre, made at much bigger budgets, a run for their money.
It is to be considered that Mammootty and Mohanlal, both the superstars have been extending their shore up for the movie yet sooner than its release throughout their social media pages. And now, the Take Off team (Mahesh Narayanan and the producers of the movie) met Mammootty and Mohanlal to know their opinion on the movie. Apparently, the actor had also congratulated the team for a grand success.
When the take-off team visited Mammootty at his home in Kochi, the Megastar appreciated them for the movie's worldwide standard of production and their efforts. As the audiences are by now going gaga over the movie, these words from the superstars of Mollywood are sure to excite fans!.
