Ranjith’s directorial debut Ravanaprabhu (2001) was with Lalettan. Since then, their collaborations have always tasted the victory, except Rock n’ Roll (2007). Previoius one Spirit (2012) was selected as the Best Film on Social Issues, 60th National Awards and completed 100+ days run on big screens. So the hype over their fifth tie-up is sky high.
The movie is gonna be a turning point for Actress Mythili too. Ranjith introduced Mythili through his much critically acclaimed Paleri Manikyam: Oru Pathirakolapathakathinte Katha. According to the reports, she has asked her teacher to enlighten her in filmmaking aspects too. Yes, she is debuting as an Assistant Director through Loham and she is also portraying a pivotal supporting role.
Kunjunni S Kumar cranked the camera for Loham, which was shot in and around Calicut, Cochin and Dubai. Antony Perumbavoor is producing Loham, under the banner of Aashirvad Cinemas and Dr. Sreevalsan J Menon is composing the sound tracks.
The ensemble cast includes Ajmal Ameer, Vijaya Raghavan, Siddhique, Harish Peradi, Renji Panicker, VK Prakash, Tini Tom, Joju George, Abu Salim, Srindha, Thesni Khan and many other experienced artists. Earlier there were widespread rumors about the guest appearances of Prithviraj and Manju Warrier. No official clarifications are out yet.
