Prithviraj has been doing lead roles in Malyalam Movies since 2002. Yes, 13 long years. But strangely, many critics (or those who pretend so) judge his roles as if he is a newbie. “Prithviraj is not apt for humor”, that’s one of the most common criticism he has received all these years. Hopefully, this will come to an end soon. Paavada is said to be his response to all those who shoot such allegations.
After Jeethu Joseph’s Memories, Miya George is starring opposite to Prithviraj. There were reports that, earlier this year, director and his team were in talks with Shobhana to play a pivotal role. However as per latest, dancer turned actor Asha Sarath has signed to portray this character. Also Manju Warrier has agreed to make a cameo appearance in the movie. Rest of the cast includes Nedumudi Venu, Maniyanpilla Raju, Anoop Menon, Siddique, Sayi Kumar, Sudheer Karamana, Sasi Kalinga, Kunjan, Renji Panicker and other experienced artists.
Paavada is Marthandan’s third directorial venture, after Mammootty starrer Daivathinte Swantham Cleetus and Achcha Din. Even though these two flicks didn’t perform well at box office, this former associate of Shaji Kailas and Ranj Panicker is confident on this third one. Because, the screenplay is the real hero in this one. Actor-writer Anoop Menon has recently made a statement that Paavada is one of the finest script he has come across recently.
Paavada is being funded by actor-producer Maniyanpilla Raju under his home production banner, marking this his tenth production venture. The story was penned by Shibin Francis and Bipin Chandran. Bipin himself wrote the screenplay and dialogues, after the blockbuster movie 1983.
According to the chatter, movie will release in December-January season. Let’s wait and watch.
