Prithviraj Sukumaran is on a roll, with 4 of his last films topping the Box Office collection reports. He is on the success track since Ennu Ninte Moideen. His 3 last films which got released in 2015, namely Ennu Ninte Moideen, Amar Akbar Anthony and Anarkali, broke many box office records and now, his first film of 2016 is heading in the same direction. Also, filmmaker G. Marthandan, who suffered two back to back failures (Daivathinte Swantham Cleetus & Achcha Din) at box office, is back on track with the victory of Paavada.
Due to alcoholism, Joy’s (Prithviraj) aka ‘Paambu’ Joy’s marriage is on the verge of breaking up. He goes to a de-addiction center, where he befriends Babu (Anoop Menon) aka Paavada Babu. Babu’s life is hellish because of a movie Paavada, which he produced ages ago. The story takes a new turn when Joy realizes that his fate string is intertwined with Babu’s.
As usual, Prithviraj has done his part well as the male lead. Other prominent roles which will remain in your head for a while are - Anoop Menon’s Babu, Miya George’s Simi (Joy’s Wife), Asha Sarath’s Sicily (Joy’s mother), Sharafudheen’s Vilakkoothi Rajan (Joy’s sidekick), Nedumudi Venu’s (Babu’s employee), Chemban Vinod Jose’s priest role and Maniyan Pilla Raju’ s lawyer role.
Actor Maniyan Pillai Raju himself funded the project under his home banner Maniyan Pillai Raju Productions. He is one among the producers who have never tasted the bitter of failure. Cinematographer Pradeep Nair’s frames, Abi Tom Cyriac’s Original Soundtracks and Gopi Sunder’s background scores are the bonuses which you are gonna love.
Renowned screenwriter Bipin Chandran penned the screenplay, based on the story he co-wrote with Shibin Francis. Wait till end, because right when you think you know what is gonna happen, a well plotted surprise will hit you. Don’t miss it.
