‘Azhakiya Ravanan’, penned by Sreenivasan and directed by Kamal, was released back in 1996. Shattering all expectations, movie was not a success at Box Office, but it became acclaimed after the television release and thus earned the cult status. It has to be the sarcasm that brought all those characters close to our hearts. Especially, the supporting character named N.P. Ambujakshan, a tailor and wannabe novelist, played by Sreenivasan.
Ambujakshan fans can relax now, he will be back soon on silver screens.
That’s right! The spoof movie Chirakodinja Kinavukal, is a spin-off of the movie Azhakiya Ravanan, concentrating on the character Ambujakshan. This will be the directorial debut of Santhosh Vishwanath. Praveen Cheruthara penned the screenplay for him.
Sreenivasan will share the screen space with Kunchacko Boban, Rima Kallingal, Murali Gopi, Joy Mathew, Srinda Ashab and Jacob Gregory. According to the reports, Kunchacko will play role of the tailor-cum-novelist, who is in thick love with the woodcutter’s(Joy Mathew) daughter Sumathi(Rima). Kunchakko will also portray the role of Sumathi’s fiancé who is from middle East. And yes, all these characters are part of the novel (which is also the title of the movie), written by Tailor Ambujakshan(Sreenivasan).
