Don’t get me wrong, ‘Acha Din’ is Mega star Mammootty’s ongoing project, penned by A C Vijeesh, who gifted us the super hit movie (Lal Jose’s) ‘Immanuel’ a couple of years ago. This time, Vijeesh has teamed up with director G. Marthandan, who has begun the journey with Mammukka’s own ‘Daivathinte Swantham Cleetus’.
As per the inside sources, Mammukka will portray a ‘nameless’ character, who returns to Kerala from Jharkhand after 20 years. Even for an actor who has been active in Malayalam movie industry since 1971, portraying a nameless character is rarest of the rare opportunities.
There were several rumours that a bollywood actress will portray the north Indian female lead opposite to Mammootty, but as per latest updates Punjabi model/actress Mansi Sharma has signed the contract for the same. She is known for the commercials like Pureit-water purifier, who later rose to fame essaying the role Queen Ambalika in Siddharth Kumar Tewary’s Mahabharat TV Series aired in Star Plus.
Pradeep Nair is the director of photography and the movie is produced by Mammukka’s former makeup artist George, under the banner ‘Cyn Cil Celluloid’.
Padmaraj Ratheesh, son of late actor Ratheesh, who was last seen in Mammukka’s Fireman, will also appear in this full-on comedy drama. Telugu actor Kishor will play the antagonist in the movie. Rest of the cast includes Manian Pilla Raju, Renji Panicker, Sudheer Karamana, Kunjan, Anjali Aneesh Upasana and many other well experienced stars.
Principal photography is happening at right pace as planned and if nothing goes wrong, Acha din will entertain you during the whole Onam season.
As they say, ‘good days’ are coming!
